Morten M. Westergaard is the president of the National Association of Energy Communities in Denmark. Morten has extensive experience with empowerment and engaging citizens in the green transition. He has successfully participated in several 1:1 projects, that have materialized in award-winning projects. Morten is working as the first head of climate in a Danish Municipality, mission board at Aalborg University, and advisor at the National Center for Climate Research as well as a founding member at Termonet.dk (5. Generation district heating and cooling).

Energifællesskaber Danmark is the national federation of energy communities in Denmark. The network organisation consists of 65 energy communities, energy 10 cooperatives, municipalities, scientists, consultants, businesses and related actors who work along the line and principles of energy communities. The driving forces of this young federation have many years of relevant experience in the field of community energy, clean energy transition, capacity building, business development.
