Nele Ivask is Financial & Project Manager at TREA. She has extensive experience in support the development of energy communities through , among other, various EU funded projects : technical expert in the Energy communities repository, Co2mmunity : co producing and co-financing renewable community energy projects; Fostering local engagement for Clean Energy Transition in Rural Areas through Energy Communities; StartSun aiming at establishing five energy communities of different types, and compiles start-up packages for authorities, enterprises and other actors, with step-by step guidance to follow in creating their own energy communities. Nele Ivask has been active on energy community field from 2017. Having been the leader of several EU Energy Community projects over the years, Nele has worked with various aspects of creating energy communities, researched the socio-economic background, led a community energy roundtable and trained both communities and municipalities in Estonia.

TREA is a regional energy agency in Estonia focusing on renewable energy sources and energy efficiency in buildings, both public and residential. TREA acts as a partner to local communities and authorities and as independent adviser and consultant. TREA inter alia develops energy action plans for municipalities and feasibility studies for district heating systems, but also renewable energy systems in buildings.
