Comunidad de Energías Renovables Comarcal Aragonesa del Somontano
12 members. Established in 2024
A business plan to…
To establish a regional energy community in Somontano (Huesca), providing sustainable energy services to all 29 municipalities. Through our project "30-60-30", we aim to deploy 30kWp of solar PV and 60kWh of collective storage across 30 villages. Our vision is to empower rural areas by overcoming technical and administrative barriers with small-scale, viable installations. We will pilot innovative energy-sharing models—using hourly coefficients and centralized storage—to optimize self-consumption for permanent residents, seasonal visitors, and local SMEs, fostering energy independence and local development throughout the county.
"The '30-60-30' project is unique because it adapts the energy community model to the reality of small rural villages. By combining small-scale collective PV with innovative storage and energy sharing, we turn technical barriers into opportunities for local growth, ensuring no municipality is left behind in the transition."

Impact in the community
This project acts as a catalyst for rural revitalization, using renewable energy to foster local activity and combat depopulation. By providing accessible solar energy to diverse profiles, we expect to generate significant economic savings and improve energy literacy. Our inclusive model promotes social cohesion through small, trust-based collective projects, ensuring that even the smallest villages benefit from the transition while strengthening the region's overall economic resilience.
