A business plan to…

Our business plan aims to strengthen and scale the Energy Community Gabrovo – RDNO as a pioneering citizen-led renewable energy model in Bulgaria. It will consolidate our existing photovoltaic project, optimise internal energy sharing, and develop a financially sustainable expansion pathway including new renewable capacities and potential storage solutions. The plan will provide a clear roadmap for legal compliance, financial resilience, stakeholder engagement and replication in other municipalities, ensuring that renewable energy generation remains locally owned, democratically governed and socially inclusive.

Impact in the community

The project will increase local energy self-consumption, reduce energy costs for members, and enhance community energy resilience. It will create a scalable model for citizen-led renewable energy in Bulgaria, support local authorities in implementing their climate goals, and strengthen social cohesion by enabling fair access to locally produced green energy. Surpluses will be reinvested into expanding renewable capacity and supporting vulnerable households.
