A business plan to…
Consolidate and expand community-led solar power generation and energy sharing in Lisbon, Portugal. With this business plan we will optimize data processing and energy sharing while reinforcing communication with our energy community members. We will plan the installation of additional solar PV systems for future collective investment by existing and new energy community members and explore complementary business models that allow for sustained growth. Furthermore, we will assess the need for grid reinforcement in this territory while providing energy efficiency advice to the local population. Finally, as one of the first energy communities in Portugal, we will develop tools and guides to foster the replication of energy communities across the country.
"The Telheiras/Lumiar Renewable Energy Community is one of the first citizen-led energy communities in Portugal, resulting from a collaboration between local NGOs, the local government, and technical and research partners. With the ENERCOM Facility grant, we aim to consolidate our business plan for long-term sustainability while providing inspiration and tools for other emerging initiatives."

Impact in the community
Currently, the Telheiras/Lumiar Renewable Energy Community manages three solar PV systems that share renewable electricity with around 70 members, including families, vulnerable families, small businesses, condominiums, and the local government. Through this support, we will highlight the benefits of being a member of the energy community which is fundamental for the success of the business plan. It will allow the installation of more solar PV systems with increased energy savings for a growing number of members and other social benefits.
