A business plan to…

Build a citizen-powered platform that transforms energy communities from passive grid users into active local energy systems. Our business plan develops a Smart Renewable Energy System: a platform specifically designed for collective self-consumption operations. It enables communities to: - Manage energy distribution based on collectively defined priority rules - Deploy storage using low-cost, long-lifespan technologies (sand-based thermal storage, flywheels) - Become their own Balance Responsible Party, unlocking flexibility revenues and enabling them to support other communities The project is led by an energy community of 180 members, rooted in rural Vosges (France).

Emmanuel Starck

"We don't lack renewable resources, we lack the tools to use them collectively. Our vision: an energy quartet, renewable production, flexibility, multi-form storage, and collective self-consumption. We go beyond the renewables-flexibility-storage triptych by integrating consumption, all at the scale of a territory."

Emmanuel Starck - Project Manager

Impact in the community

In a territory where 33.5% of households face energy poverty and 60% of buildings predate 1975, our project delivers tangible impact: - Economic: over 30% savings on members' electricity bills - Environmental: 14.2 tonnes of CO₂ avoided annually; storage solutions with a lifespan exceeding 30 years and zero rare earth dependency - Social: 30 trained volunteers, 12 public meetings since 2023, open membership at €10/year to remove financial barriers Cooperative governance ensures that any surplus is reinvested locally.
