Learning programme

What you will learn

By completing this programme, you will be able to:

  • Articulate the unique value your energy community provides to members and society
  • Map and engage diverse stakeholder groups effectively
  • Select appropriate governance structures and business models for your context
  • Develop realistic financial projections and funding strategies
  • Create actionable project implementation plans with clear milestones
  • Design monitoring and evaluation systems to track progress and impact
  • Build strategies for long-term sustainability and growth
  • Navigate regulatory requirements and compliance considerations

Course structure

The programme is organised into five modules covering the essential components of business plan development:

  1. Understanding your community's foundation
  2. Governance and business models
  3. Project planning and implementation
  4. Strategy and growth
  5. Compliance and sustainability

Programme duration: Self-paced (recommended 4-8 weeks). The total programme consists of around 11-12 hours of learning. 

Language: English with automatic translation support.

  1. Visit the course page on Energy Cities' Local Transitions Learning Center 
  2. Click the "Enrol" button
  3. If you're a new user, you'll need to complete registration:
    1. Accept the terms and conditions
    2. Fill in required fields (name, email, organisation)
    3. Click "Sign up"
    4. Check your email inbox for a confirmation message
    5. Click the confirmation link in the email
  4. Complete your enrollment by clicking "Enrol" again
  5. On the course page, you'll see a link to access the learning platform—click it to enter
  6. Bookmark the learning platform on your browser. From now on, you can access it directly.

Information for ENERCOM Facility beneficiaries

At least one person of the energy community must follow the learning programme, but there is no limit on the number of participants per organisation.

Upon successfully completing all modules, you will receive a certificate of completion from the ENERCOM capacity building programme.

This certificate is mandatory when uploading your business plan to the application platform. The certificate demonstrates that your business plan has been developed using the structured methodology and best practices covered in this training programme.
