Develop your energy community with the support of the European Energy Communities Facility! On 5 May 2026, we will launch our second call for proposals to support 71 energy communities through €45,000 lump-sum grants to develop a robust business plan. Moreover, if your application is successful, you will receive tailored capacity building support. The call will once again be open to applicants from the 27 EU Member States, Iceland, Moldova, North Macedonia and Ukraine. Applications will be accepted until 5 July 2026.

Through this call, funded by the European Union under the LIFE programme, we will invest more than €3 million to support 71 energy communities. These projects are expected to trigger around €60 million in private investments, fostering a fair, democratic and sustainable energy transition in Europe.

To help you understand all the requirements and opportunities the call offers, we are organising an online info session on 6 May at 10:00 CEST open to participants from all eligible countries. Our first call attracted almost 700 applicants, with 73 energy communities selected to participate in the support programme. The second call is also a chance for applicants who weren’t successful in the first call to resubmit their proposal. We strongly encourage you to apply again. However, make sure to update your proposal where necessary in line with the guidelines of the second call that will be published on 5 May. There will be some changes from the first call for proposals. Stay tuned!
