The Amsterdams Klimaat en Energiefonds (AKEF) was established by the City of Amsterdam to invest in financially and sustainably profitable projects. Managed by e3, the fund bridges the gap for innovative companies in the realization phase. By focusing on both energy transition and circularity, AKEF aims to accelerate Amsterdam's goal of becoming climate-neutral.
Application process & requirements
Strategic Fit: Must align with the Amsterdam Roadmap Climate Neutral and Circular Strategy.
Measurable Impact: Must demonstrate significant, localized CO2 reduction.
Financial Viability: Must have a business model capable of achieving a financial return (as it is not a subsidy).
Additionality: The fund is specifically for those who cannot (yet) secure full financing from a regular bank.
