Fûns Skjinne Fryske Enerzjy (FSFE) is the energy fund of the Province of Friesland. It was established to accelerate the local energy transition by providing loans and expertise to projects that contribute to a cleaner Friesland. As a revolving fund, it reinvests repaid capital into new local sustainable projects.
Application process & requirements
Location: The project must be physically situated within Friesland. Impact: Must demonstrably contribute to CO2 reduction or energy savings. Maturity: For realization loans, a solid business case and technical feasibility are required. Additionality: The fund aims to finance projects that have difficulty getting fully funded by traditional commercial banks. Interest Rates: Rates vary by term (e.g., currently between 4.95% and 5.85% for SME loans depending on the duration).
